Come join us at Beacon Country Park for a journey back in time on the 20th and 21st July 2024
Wirral Vikings (Wirhalh Skip Felagr) and Friends come together to give you a free insight into how life was lived in the 10th Century. With displays of crafts from the period you can see how various aspects of Viking and Saxon daily life were performed. The displays of combat will give you a feel of what it was like to be on the battlefield during clashes between warring factions.
If you have an interest in the Viking age, the history of the period or simply want to be entertained by the combat display there is something for you.

Wirhalh Skip Felagr focuses primarily upon the Hiberno Norse Vikings who settled the Wirral in 902AD.
We also portray several other nationalities from the “Viking Period” including:

Beacon Ln, Up Holland, Skelmersdale, Wigan WN8 7RU
Beacon Country Park consists of over 300 acres of rolling countryside spread across the slopes of Ashurst Beacon between Upholland, Dalton and Skelmersdale.
The site boasts flowing wildflower meadows, grassland, natural ponds and areas of semi-natural woodland. It commands majestic panoramic views across most of Lancashire with viewpoints overlooking the Lancashire Plain to the west and the West Pennine Moors to the east.
An extensive path network means that everyone can explore the park and there is plenty of space to walk, run, ride horses or bicycles, fly kites, or just get away from it all and relax.
